The salon and aft cabin are again modernised in 2010 and equipped with LED lights. The kitchen is equipped with a marble worktop and the dinette can be lowered for extra sleeping places.

The engine was reinstalled in 2006. The engine compartment is equipped with new insulation and automatic fire extinguishing installation. In addition, the engine compartment, as well as the storage space for it, can be electrically opened. The engine has a closed cooling system.

The folding windows have been renewed in 2016. The cabrio tent is also equipped with removable sunblinds. At the steering position you can keep an eye on the stern with a camera. Recently, the underwater ship has been provided with ultrasonic 'antifouling'. Thanks to the ultrasonic waves, the underwater hull remains free of fouling and you no longer need to antifoul the underwater ship. Environmentally friendly and very easy.

The Molenkruiser was built in 1983 by Klaas Mulder in Zaandam, we purchased the boat in the fall of 2005. We bought the boat from a private owner and fell for the model and the spacious center and rear cabin where it is great to relax. From the marina in Amsterdam (where the boat was) we sailed the boat to Alkmaar and put it there (indoors) in winter storage. During the entire winter we mainly worked inside the boat to make everything to our liking and to see what had to be done to get a safe feeling at the boat. The reason for this was, that the boat is from (as indicated) 1983 and there was a DAF 75 engine in it that burnt oil a lot and leaked oil (which didn't make us feel safe) In the spring of 2006 we took the boat to Drinkwaart in Sliedrecht in order to have a new engine installed. This was a Mitsubishi six-cylinder and from there we (with a safe feeling) sailed back to the marina in Aalsmeer where the boat has been in summer storage all those years. Every winter I sailed the boat back to Alkmaar where it was stored in the winter storage. We had bought the boat with the aim that if I would retire, we could leave with the boat the whole summer (unfortunately due to the sudden death of my wife, it did not get to that point). All the years he has been in winter storage, my wife and I have had the following activities carried out or were carried out by ourselves
- Installed a new engine, which I already indicated
- Had the Vetus bow thruster installed
- Had the Victron electrical installation installed including new batteries
- Converted aft cabin and electric Vetus hanging toilet including waste watertank
- Engine compartment re-fitted and insulated including fire extinguishing system
- The middle cabin completely rebuilt to create enough cupboard space, including an elevating system so that the TV sinks into the cupboard
- The motor shutters open and close electrically.
- Re-laid the floors
- The cushions in the fore cabin have been renewed
- New windows and windscreen wipers have been placed on top of the aft cabin and have them closed so that you can sit outside at all times-
- All decks have Flexie teak fitted to complete the look of the boat
- An ultrasonic installation built in to prevent algae growth
- Had the bottom of the ship sandblasted and new coating apllied
- Place water lubricated Galan and wet exhaust
- Had hot air heating installed
This roughly is the list of the most important adjustments that have been made to make the boat to our liking and to feel that when we are on the boat, we are just as much at home as in our house. The sailing area has been throughout the Netherlands and a part of Belgium, the boat behaves just as easily on large or small water - it is a pleasure (we thought) to sail the boat. Although we prefer to sail on inland waterways because we liked it the most. If you saw a nice spot you could moor and then sit comfortably on shore or on the aft cabin and enjoy. But if you want to go from A to B you often have to take busier sailing routes to get to the beautiful places. During the weekends we often sailed on one of the lakes around Aalsmeer and dropped our anchor to swim and relax.
