Short description Unique custom built classic, with beautiful lines and authentic interior.
Lead ballast estimated at about 8,000 kg.
Very well manufactured hull, built according to Lloyd's specifications by leading shipyard Tyler Boat Co. Full glass laminated hull, in S-span hull shape with laminated trusses and stringers. The space between the rafters is then filled with foam plates, after which the whole is again laminated.
The basis of this design lies in a Hood 50: at the end of the sixties designed as a competition yacht by prominent architect and competition sailor Ted Hood. By adjusting the stern, with longer classic positive stern, the beautiful lines of the design were further emphasized and a beautifully lined classic was created: The HOOD 52. Only a few yachts of this type have been built, and the Ostoya also has an original superstructure and deck layout, which do even more justice to the classic lines.
The Ostoya is a yacht that was built with extreme love and passion. The first owner took three years to complete the work, each detail being thought out in detail, but also worked out and documented in detail. The Ostoya has 2 meters of documentation available, in which the first owner has described the yacht and the construction minitieues -and with various watercolor detail drawings-. The current and second owner has owned the yacht with as much love, and they wanted to keep the yacht in as original a state as possible.
During the last 25 years of its existence, the Ostoya has been carefully owned and stored indoors almost every winter. A recent inspection report on the condition of the underwater hull is available.
Owner's cabin SB in front of the ship and extra cabin in front of the ship
Beautiful authentic interior, carefully crafted
Taylor - cooker, on Petroleum
Beautiful and authentic teak interior. Below deck, you'll feel as if you're in a chic and classic men's society, with a lot of charm. The leather padded upholstery can be found on the sofas, but is also used as a practical wall covering in the various rooms. A beautiful detail is the bar. Round, leather-finished doors give access to cupboard space for bottles and glasses. At the top there is a beautifully crafted, pull-out glass rack. The original glass carafes are still in their designated place in the cupboard.
On board Ostoya you will not find "bedrooms", with ditto island beds and "bathrooms", but real cabins. Practically furnished, extremely atmospheric and equipped with beautiful authentic details. In the forward part of the boat there is a guest cabin with a double bed in the shape of a V. The cabin is equipped with its own washing facilities, as might be expected with a yacht of this calibre. The wet room with shower and vacuum toilet is accessible through the passage. Midships on starboard is the owner's cabin, which also has direct access to the en-suite wet cell. The modest but extremely romantic cabin offers a single bed, which can be widened with a pull-out bed. Under the cockpit benches there are two additional cages, with above located pilot cages.
At various places through the yacht, there are custom-made boxes of teak, for the storage of parts and / or equipment.

Additional information
This unique yacht was built with great love and passion, where the first owner has taken over 3 years to have every detail to your liking. The complete construction and technical details of the yacht -extended with practical tips- are meticulously documented in about two meters of files, provided with watercolor detail drawings. His passion for building this yacht may have been greater than his love of sailing. In this tradition, the current and second owner wanted to keep this Hood in its original state and owned it with great love.
