The boat comes with various spare parts for the engine, including: valves, valve cover, head gasket, atomizers and fuel pump. The engine has always been used with great care and still runs good. At 1700 rpm the boat runs 5.5 knots and uses 2 ltr/hour. Maximum speed is 8 knots.

Over the past 14 years, the Koopmans 43 has brought the owner couple safely and comfortably around the Mediterranean, Black Sea and Atlantic Ocean. This boat has earned her stripes and is ready for her new adventure.

As good as born and raised on a sailing boat, I never consciously learned and started sailing in a pirate and several other open boats and later with my parents' boat I gained a lot of experience on open and flowing water v.n.l op rivers, IJsselmeer, Wadden Sea and Zeeland waters. Delta works had only just started and all the seagulls were still open. Wish to make big trips had to be postponed because my wife preferred to invest in a house instead of a boat because she wasn't sure yet whether she would like it. (Had never sailed before she met me) Because our money was in a house I started to draw and build a steel boat myself. When we had children the plan for travelling was put on hold for the time being. After 20 years in our self-built boat in the holidays sea experience and our 2 daughters out of the house a Koopmans 35 Kustvaarder 4 was bought. Of course also steel. Due to special circumstances together decided not to wait but to retire early, to find a bigger boat and to settle for a lower pension later. House sold, steel longboat wanted because of our plans. It has to be a steel boat that has a central cockpit and is easy to sail. If you sail against a "floating" container or make a mistake at a reef, keel and rudder should stay on it. What's more, steel can be repaired anywhere in the world. The Atlantic has amply proven to meet our wishes. Our experience is that, in bad weather conditions, the boat for us and we do not have to take care of the boat and also survived a collision with container.
