Owner's comment
The Blue Moon is a fantastic classic sailing yacht. Because of her Sparkman & Stephens lines with elegant spoon bow, a modern S truss underwater hull and swept butt a ship that causes positive reactions everywhere you walk in. A modern classic of the first generation. The elevated deckhouse gives you a lot of light and space inside and you can sit comfortably on the leather benches, something you rarely see on these types of ships.
By her length it is a ship that gives a lot of comfort, and with the mizzen it is possible to choose the ideal sail plan, even when the wind is stronger, but also at anchor to keep her fresh in the wind. You have plenty of living space and in addition it is not too big to be able to get around well and by her draft of 2.00 meters you can sail almost anywhere. Also in the harbor it is a wonderful ship to stay on with washing machine, extractor, thermostatically controlled heating, electric toilet, TV, etc.
The hull was put in a breathable paint system by Awlgrip in 2015 and finished with hempel 1 component paint system, which is easy to touch up in case of scratches and or damages. The decks are all teak and in good condition and I keep clean with salt water, the hatches and deckhouse are varnished and under covers only need a new coat of varnish every 2 years (more fun than polyester polishing). For maintenance of the underwater ship she goes on the side every 2 years for new antifouling and anodes. The electrics on board are simple and together with the interior renewed in 1995 in Terneuzen, the fiat aifo engine is strong and industrial. If you are looking for a ship with classic lines this is a wonderful opportunity.
