The interior consists of solid teak and everywhere are handles so you can safely walk through the ship. All space is used and therefore many storage options.
The cockpit is equipped with a large, deep coffin on starboard and a shallow on portside. Also useful is the small cool box in the starboard bench to keep your drinks cold.

The ship is cutter rigged with a self-tacking boom jib and a genoa. The self-tacking boom jib automatically tackles, so that only the genoa needs to be operated. The mainsail is equipped with a lazy jack system.

Additional information
The Island Packet 35 has a 35 ft waterline but measures 38 ft over all. That's why Island Packet 38 would be a better indication. During the construction of the Island Packet, everything aimed at making a strong, seaworthy sailing ship. This was successful as the hull of the Island Packet can have a 5x higher impact than comparable boats. In addition, the diesel and water tanks have been placed under the floor for better sailing characteristics and the decks are easily accessible and safe due to the high footboard. Also because of the continuous keel and the rudder on the skeg, the Island Packet makes an extremely suitable boat for (long) sea trips.
