Oorspronkelijk is LEVANTE ontworpen onder de naam 'GEM' (S&S design #1930/2 vernoemd in "The hundred best") en was besteld door de beroemde zeiler William Ziegler lll. De vormgeving van 'Levante' spreekt zowel aan buiten- en binnenzijde tot de verbeelding. Begin jaren "70 won de eigenaar William Ziegler III met GEM vele races in de West- en Oost-Atlantische Oceaan. Omdat er slechts een vijftal zusterschepen gebouwd werden mogen we gerust spreken van een schip dat uniek is in zijn soort. 

Haar romplijnen bleven ongewijzigd, waardoor haar originele prestatie-eigenschappen behouden bleven. Ze kan perfect singlehanded gezeild worden, omdat alle lijnen tot in de kuip lopen. De originele tekeningen van zeilplan en rompontwerpen zijn in goede staat bewaard gebleven en bevinden zich in het jacht. Het interieur en exterieur zijn vrijwel origineel en slechts een weinig aangepast aan het moderne confort. Ze zeilt uitstekend bij weinig wind en kan een snelheid van 8 knopen halen bij slechts 15 knopen wind.

This beautiful SPARKMAN AND STEPHENS 44 is for sale in BELGIUM for 109,000 euros.

Originally designed under the name 'GEM' (S&S design #1930/2 named in "The hundred best"), LEVANTE was commissioned by the famous sailor William Ziegler lll. The design of 'Levante' captures the imagination both on the outside and inside. In the early 1970s, the owner William Ziegler III won many races in the West and East Atlantic with GEM. Since only about five sister ships were built, we can safely speak of a ship that is unique in its kind.

Her hull lines remained unchanged, preserving her original performance characteristics. She can be sailed perfectly singlehanded, as all lines run right into the cockpit. The original drawings of sail plan and hull designs have been preserved in good condition and are in the yacht. The interior and exterior are virtually original and only slightly adapted to modern confort. She sails excellent in low winds and can reach a speed of 8 knots in only 15 knots of wind.

Comfortable, beautiful, fast, solid and well-balanced: this yacht is timeless and perfect for the sailor who likes to stand out in a classic regatta, or prefers to anchor privately at an anchorage, or go out with family and friends, or be admired in any marina anywhere in the world. Over six people can stay on Levante. She is currently located in Antwerp, Belgium, but delivery is possible under certain conditions.
